The McDade Family is one of the early Alabama settlers.  The sons of James Arnold McDade came to Mt. Meigs, Montgomery Co., AL, between 1817 and 1820.  James died here while visiting his sons and is the first person to be buried in the Manning Springs/McDade Cemetery at Mt. Meigs.  I am a descendent of the Montgomery County McDades.

I believe the Fayette County McDades are probably related to us, but have not found the link.  If the Fayette McDades are related to the Montgomery McDades, then they descend from William McDade and Mary Bridgeman (see Sept McDade Clan Davidson).
