KENNEDY, Thomas W. (Private, Company "K", 61st Alabama Infantry Regiment) Enlisted May 4, 1864 Witnesses: A. Armstrong and W. W. Jones, pension Application, Henry County, No. 33805; captured, POW at Petersburg, Va. on April 2, 1865, and went to Point Lookout; released around middle of June. Born on May 1, 1846, in Sandersville, Ga., and died on Dec. 2, 1919 buried in Kennedy Cemetery in his own property near Shorterville, Ala., (now this cemetery belongs to Abbeville History Society). Death claim filed by his father James L. Kent, Butler County, Alabama, May 1, 1863. Description: fair complexion, gray eyes, auburn hair, six feet tall, age nineteen. Born in Barbour County, Alabama.

KING, William Rufus (Private, Company "A" 6th Alabama Cavalry Regiment) William was born in Georgia on January 1,1834 died February 28, 1923 near Ashford, Houston County Alabama and is buried at Ebenezer Baptist Church in what is now Houston County, Alabama. William came to Henry County Alabama about 1835 with his parents. William's Mother and Father were Michael DeVane King (born in Cumberland County North Carolina, died about 1855) and Arenna Wall King (died in 1902) and both are buried in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in what is now Houston County Alabama. William and Caroline were married on March 6, 1856 by Richard McGriff, who was his Uncle by marriage to Sarah King. The Wedding took place at the home of Caroline's Father and Mother, John William and Mary McKenzie Buie, in Henry County Alabama. William's Father, Michael King had a brother and three sisters, all born in Cumberland County North Carolina to move to Henry County in the mid 1830's. Source: Rick Richter

KUGLER, Jacob L. (Private, Company C, 25th Alabama Infantry Regiment “Shelby Confederates) Absent on fifteen day sick furlough since December 26, 1861. Detailed as a hospital attendant, January 1862 roll. Died in Washington County, Alabama, March 4, 1862. Killed by falling from railroad cars.
