William Rufus King (On Left)

William Rufus King was born January 1, 1834 in Georgia. He married Caroline Buie on April 4, 1856 in Henry County, Alabama. Compiled Service Records show W. R. King both the 6th Alabama Infantry and 6th Alabama Cavalry. Very litte is availble in the National Archives on this gentleman.

William Rufus and Caroline Buie were the parents of at least 7 children:

John Michael King, born July 28, 1861
Henry James King, born November 14, 1865
Sarah Caroline King, born November 3, 1867
Emma Arsula King, born about 1871
Alice Jeanette King, born about 1875

Joseph M. Lee King, born abut 1867 and Elijah Cornelius King, born about 1865, are shown as sons of William and Caroline in the 1880 census but they are not in the 1870 Census.
