GIVENS SURNAMED SOLDIERS

Andrew Jackson Givens (Private, Company B, 6th Alabama Volunteer Infantry Regiment) was born November 6, 1825 and married Eveline Helton born December 30, 1828 and died May 7, 1907. Children are: 1st) William W. Givens was b June 16, 1847, d November 28, 1929 and  married Julia Starling. 2nd) Martha Jane Givens was b April 10, 1849, d June 6, 1879 and  married  John Starling. 3rd) Eliza Givens was b June 27, 1851, d February 19, 1937 and  married  George Kelly. 4th) Frances Adeline Givens was b May 14, 1853, d November 19, 1916 and  married Grandberry Burnham. 5th) Elizabeth Givens was b February 8, 1855, d September 1, 1951 and  married Jesse Walker 6th)  Emaline Givens was b June 7, 1857, d December 10, 1936 and  married  Gus McClenny. 7th)  Jackson Alexander Givens was b March 23, 1863, d September 28, 1947. He m 1st Mollie Bryant and 2nd Mattie McKnight. 8th) Jefferson Givens was b July 19, 1859, d March 31, 1937 and  married Mattie Bryant.

He enlisted 8 August 1861 in Henry County Alabama in Company B, 6th Alabama Infantry and was shortly assigned to Company E of 25th Georgia Regiment. Called Irwin's Invincibles and subsequently Henry Light Infantry. He died at White Sulphur Springs, Virginia (now W.
