Heather Selph June 13, 2001
My grandmother is Bertie Mae Cato SELPH.  She was born the sixth of eight children to James Andrew "Ander" CATO and Lucy Jean Brasiel CATO.  Their children were, in order of birth:  Mary Elizabeth, John Tommy, General Robert, James HENRY, Ruthie Mae, Bertie Mae, Vernice Orean, and Joel Abraham.  Grandma and Vernice are the only two still alive.  I have dates and marriage/family information on most of these.
Ander Cato was the son of John Cato and Flora Etta/Floretta ___ CATO.  I really don't have much on them, and was hoping to find more at your site.  But, I do know their children's names:  Henry, Susannah, James Andrew "Ander," Huldy, and Lucas.  Aunt Huldy died around 1987, when she was in her late 90's.  I have some info on their marriages/families. Lucy Jean (or Lucy Jane) Brasiel was the daughter of John or James THOMAS Brasiel and Mittie A. (Arminta?) McMURRY.  I was also hoping to find something on either of these families here.  Their children were: Charlie, Lucy Jean, Elbert Howard, Comer Lavode, Willie R., Rufus Thomas, and Lucian Oliver.  I have dates and marriage/family info for some of these, as many of them migrated to Thomaston, Georgia, which is where I live.  My grandmother and her sister, Ruthie, also lived here, and their older brother General.
