Mrs. Benonia Nichols Sasser
SASSER, Mrs. Benonia "Nonia", 95, a resident of Brantley, AL, died Friday, January 2, 2004. Funeral services will be 2 pm, Sunday, January 4, 2004 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with Rev. Andy Till and Rev. Sylvia Pierce officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Ida Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Sasser is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew B. "Fel" Sasser; her grandson, Byrd Taylor; her parents, Alvin and Jimmie Nichols; her brother, Tharon Nichols; and her sister, Abbie Ruth Compton. Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn S. Brown, Montgomery, AL, Merle (Webb) Compton and Bonnie (George) Taylor, both of Brantley, AL; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Active pallbearers will be Todd Matthews, Wade Compton, Walter Brown, Brian Sudduth, John Holbrook and Mack Taylor. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Saturday from 5 pm until 7 pm.
