SAXTON-ADAMS, The 1860 census of BUTLER Co. lists S.S. SAXTON and his wife ANNA and 3 children, obviously SANFORD SAXTON's by a previous marriage, as the census states they were married within in the year, and since ANNA's age is listed as 21 yrs, she is too young to be the mother. Sanford is listed as a laborer on the Railroad and apparently lives in a rail road camp with several other workers, one of whom is ELIJAH ADAMS, believed to be a relative, possibly the father of ANNA ADAMS SAXTON. In the 1880 census ELIJAH ADAMS is living in CONECUH CO., ALA. SANFORD and ANNA died in TEXAS abt 1876. Any information concerning these families appreciated. Would also like to hear from any one who has knowledge of the railroad, where it went from BUTLER Co., and where it was before. Thank you.

Joseph F. OLIVER, 29, b. AL was listed in the 1860 census as a teacher. Listed also was Martha, 26, b. AL; Georgiana, 5; Catherine, 18; and Frances, 8. Joseph was most likely the son of John and Elizabeth (Phelps) OLIVER; Catherine and Frances were orphans of Joseph and Mary Oliver of Conecuh. In Sept. 1863, Martha Ann OLIVER, widow of Joseph (who was in Co. H, 23rd AL Inf.) filed a claim for a pension. Does anyone know what became of Martha and Georgiana OLIVER?

Richard WAGSTER was on the 1818 tax list of Conecuh Co.  According to
Cahaba Land Office records, he and William WAGSTER bought land on 3 Dec
1821.  According to AL pension records, William WAGSTER was from Edgefield
Dist., SC and his pension was in Butler Co.  I need any info on this
surname.  I'm trying to make a connection to my WAGNON line who settled in
Monroe Co.  Any help appreciated.

Hello, I am searching for information on George Lufette OLIVER b.Jan
17,1870 . I have been led to believe he may have come to MS from Conecuh
County AL. I have listed this on several queries but have not had a
whole lot of luck, only one response and we aren't able to make a
definite connection.  Even his death certificate lists his parents as
unknown. Can you suggest any places I might look?  He was married to
Ocie Leola DEMPSEY b. Nov 10, 1872 in AL  .  Her parents were J.B.
DEMPSEY and Catherine HORN, they have proven to be just as elusive. Any
help would be greatly appreciated, my grandma and great-aunt say their
names  were "grandma and grandpa"!!!
