Tombstone Inscriptions
Here are some Inscriptions that
were found on tombstones and some Inscriptions that people are having trouble
reading. If you can help with the incomplete inscriptions, please let us
know as well as the person that submitted the request.

Here's one I need help on. I do hope that someone, somewhere, has seen this verse and can fill in the gaps!
On the memorial marker to Absalom
J. Nichols, son of Theophilus and Rebecca, killed at the Battle of Gaines
Mill, VA, July 27, 1862:
"In the twinkling of an eye
This precious youth was called
to die.
From [unreadable word] to his [honor?
mother?] given,
His [rest is unreadable] ..."
