THE STANLEY ONE-PLACE
(A resource for anyone researching their ancestors in the village of Stanley, Derbyshire, England)
A note from the webmaster, Alan Bloor:
I started putting this site together in the early 2000s, initially as a general site for my genealogy research which included the village of Stanley, where many of my ancestors originated. As time went on I became more involved with the One Place Study and no longer had the time to continually update the family tree pages of my website. Therefore I have disconnected all other pages from the site and left only the One Place Study section linked from this homepage. For anyone interested in my entire family tree, I have an active tree on Ancestry which is named "Alan Bloor's Tree."
The Stanley One Place Study website includes a lot of information pertinent to the village and its former inhabitants. Some of this information can now be found elsewhere, such as Ancestry, but other things, like Methodist baptisms and Memorial Inscriptions, are unique to this website. There is also an extensive collection of old photographs of Stanley and its people. I hope you find your visit useful. All the information here is given free of charge, but bear in mind that these are transcriptions so where possible I recommend you check the originals in case I've made any errors.
