Adeline Florio, 78, of Slovan, died Thursday, November 18, 1999, in Camp Hill. She was born July 28, 1921, in Slovan, a daughter of Adolph and Mary Yonis Schilinski. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Florio was employed as a dietitian for Western Center, Canonsburg. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown. Surviving are a son, Arthur Florio of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, Yekira and Aviva Keisling; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her husband, Arthur Florio, who died in 1970; seven brothers, John, Thomas, Joseph, Edward, Bryne, Andrew and Benjamin Schilinski; and two sisters, who died in infancy. Arrangements by Hayden-Taucher Funeral Home, 23 Erie Mine Road, Burgettstown, where a blessing service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday, November 22, with the Rev. Richard J. Tusky officiating. Interment in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Burgettstown

Arthur A Florio, 51, Chairman of the Smith Twp Supervisors, suffered a heart attack and died Mon afternoon, 19 Jan 1970, in Harrisburg. Mr Florio, a resident of Slovan for the past 36 years, served as a secretary to State Democratic Secretary Ernest P Kline, in addition to his duties as a township supervisor. He had been a supervisor for 17 years. Mr Florio was in Harrisburg to check with state officials concerning a proposed community jail facility for this area. He was born 13 Feb 1918 in Culp, IL. A veteran of WWII, he was a member of the American Legion and the Raccoon Sportsmen Club. He was also president of the Italian Lodge in Slovan. Surviving are his wife, Adeline Schilinski Florio; one son, Arthur Jr at home; and five brothers, Leo of Cleveland, OH; Angelo of South Bend, IN; James of Chauncy, WV; Philip of Murphysboro, IN; and Edward of Atlasburg.
