Mrs Margaret Derrig, 65, widow of Dennis Derrig, died last night at home, 213 Franklin St, Dunmore. One of the best known and highly respected residents of Dunmore. Devout and active communicant of St Mary's Church. Born in Ireland, came to Dunmore as a young girl & lived there the last 40 years. Survived by 2 sons, John and William Derrig; daughter, Mrs Edward Egan.
Sat 1 Mar 1919; Funeral yesterday from the family home & largely attended. St

Mrs Mary Derrig, 1211 E Drinker St, Dunmore, died yesterday in State hospital. Scranton native, lived most of life in Dunmore; wife of Michael Derrig, member of Eclipse Hose Co, Dunmore Fire Dept. Daughter of Michael & Alice Hobbs Carey. St Mary's Church & women's societies. In addition to her husband & parents, survived by 4 daughters, Mrs Edward Gregorski & Mrs Frank Froese, both of Dunmore, Marian & Kay, both of home; son, Patrick of Scranton; 2 sisters, Mrs Willard Penton of Northport Long Island & Mrs James Moran of Scranton; 2 brothers, Edward Carey of Scranton & John Carey of Atlanta GA; 5 grandchildren. Funeral to be announced from O'Donnell FH, 2023 Green Ridge St; St Mary's Church.
