A soap factory is one of the hundreds of Scranton industries and it is noted for the purity of its product. Years ago there were a number of these factories but in the centralization of that industry the others dropped from existence. The factory that remained and that has been growing yearly is conducted by Charles F Greenburg, at 112 East Elm Street, South Scranton. Laundry, toilet and soft soap are made there and they are noted for their purity among the large private trade that Mr Greenburg has built up.
Mr Greenburg came here at the age of eight years from Paterson, NJ, and early started working in the soap factory of John Schwenk, his stepfather. He purchased the business in 1882 and has been for years a factor in the business life of that section of the city.
