Scranton (PA) Times , Mon 24 Sep 1917 By unanimus vote last night, St Patrick's congregation in Olyphant decided in favor of erecting a new church in keeping with the size and importance of St Patrick's parish. Rev Dr P J Murphy, pastor. A friend of the parish promised $5,000 once $15,000 is raised. Total cost projected at $50,000. Will be on site of existing church. Committee of 20, Attorney Peter L Walsh named chairman; Prof John Dempsey, secretary; Rev Murphy, treasurer; Rev J A Walsh, asst treasurer. Architect, John J Howley of Scranton.
