Listed in the 1942-43 Scranton Directory. 15 St Gabriel's Retreat was run in Dunmore by the Passionist nuns and has since relocated to Clarks Summit; the property is currently Villa St Joseph, the diocesan residence for retired priests

Mission status 1852; established as a pastorate in 1856 as SS Simon and Jude the Apostles (St Simon's), renamed 1874; 6 , 7 , 8 merged with All Saints (1998) 11 and St Casimir's (between 1990-92) 16 , Dunmore; two cemeteries, St Mary's, next to the church on Chestnut St, and Mapquest map Mt Carmel, blessed in 1892 13

Records mainly date back to 1856; early Mt Carmel cemetery records were detroyed in a fire in the early '20s.

St Michael's Greek Catholic Church will be rededicated on Sun 18 Sep with high mass, followed by a banquet at All Saints Church Hall. Ceremonies mark the completion of extensive renovation costing $55,000. Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Nicholas T Elko, DD, Apostolic Exarch of Pittsburgh; Bishop Jerome Hannon of Scranton will preside. Assisted by Archpriests, V Rev Nicholas Chopey of Wilkes-Barre & V Rev Joseph Jackanich of Hazelton; Rev Robert Moneta of Wilkes-Barre, Rev Joseph Ridella of Nanticoke, Rev John Bovankovich of Scranton, Rev William Lesko of Scranton, Rev Andrew Pataki of Endicott NY, Rev Theodore Rudy of Hazelton, V Rev George Bonchansky of Homestead, Rev Andrew Stim of Jessup, Rev Michael Dudick of Old Forge, Rev Michael Warady of Pittston and Rev Joseph Skakaley of Forest City. Rev Bonetzkey, honorary chair.
