Church of the Holy Ghost/Spirit

Founded in 1852 and erected on S Elmira St; established as a parish in 1868; renamed St Joseph when the new church was built in 1901 (see below).^1,2,3 Confirmations held in 1854, '56 and '58⁴

History of Bradford County relates that when Holy Ghost parish (see above) decided that they needed to build a new church, the pastor buried a small statue of St Joseph on the property they were hoping to purchase. Once the deal was accomplished, they decided to name the new church St Joseph in his honor; built in 1901, dedicated in 1902;^1,2,3 now merged with St John the Evangelist, South Waverly
