History of Bradford County relates that when Holy Ghost parish (see above) decided that they needed to build a new church, the pastor buried a small statue of St Joseph on the property they were hoping to purchase. Once the deal was accomplished, they decided to name the new church St Joseph in his honor; built in 1901, dedicated in 1902;1,2,3 now merged with St John the Evangelist, South Waverly
