Finally we include the following as a "stray" stray, for which we find no obvious other home, from Ayrshire, courtesy of Meg Greenwood of Oklahoma USA and Diana Henry of Dunragit, Wigtownshire.

John McLACHLAN born May 9, 2pm at 'a temporary hut near Corton near Ayr' to Dennis McLACHLAN, Railway Labourer 41y born 'Auchnis', parish of Donegal and Mary McLACHLAN ms McGHEE.
This was her 5th child, 31y born Co. Down. They wed in Stranraer in 1845 and had 1 boy and 3 girls living [no deaths noted]. Informant was the father, Dennis McLACHLAN.
