- Jim Blair: from Virginia; sold to Lewis in LA; sold away from his family (wife and five children) in Virginia

- daughter Virginia: born at Thomas Lewis's Plantation; served as a house slave
- Note: Virginia Bell recalls that Lewis owned about four or five families of slaves. During the Civil War, Lewis relocated the plantation to Polk Co., TX for three years. After emancipation, Lewis and the ex-slaves returned to the original plantation near Opelousas, LA.
