Cecil was born May 17, 1919 in Edmonton, Alberta to Axel and Emma Homme. He was raised in the Burtonsville area and attended the Shoal Lake School until Grade 6. After leaving school, Cecil worked for some area farmers until March of 1942 when he volunteered and served in the army. After a period of courtship they were married September 4th, 1953. Cecil and June decided to live in the Burtonsville area where Cecil had been raised.
