Getting in Touch with Other Researchers

There are many ways to find other researchers who are looking for the same surnames as you are and they can be an invaluable aid to your own research. There have been large listings created of researchers along with the names they are researching to help you find other researchers.

Of these lists, the oldest, and probably largest, is the long-standing Roots-L Surnames List (RSL). By typing in the surname for which you are searching, you can find others who have submitted their search names to the Roots-L listing.

In addition to the RSL, many of the counties in the PA GenWeb are maintaining surnames list on the county sites. If you know where you ancestors were located, check out the county site for their location-maybe someone is already working on your family lines.
