Take State Route #145 north out of Strong Village. After you cross the town line into Freeman take a right up Gilkey Hill to where the road "Tees". Take a right and go up the hill to the four corners, which is Tuttle corner. From here you walk or 4-wheel drive in good weather. At Tuttle corner you take a left up the hill to the first four corners and take a right. This road was known as the "Upper Rd." in the old days. Go right on the Upper Rd. for about 500 yards until you find a stone wall on the left. Follow the west side of the Wall into the woods for about 500 feet. Climb over the Wall and go into the woods 40 feet or so. The Graves were under a tall spruce tree and were marked with foot stones that had been thrown out of Tuttle Corner Cemetery. This area was clear cut sometime in the late 1980's and when we were there with Mr. Burton Weymouth, a descendent, we could not find the Graves. Mr. Weymouth wanted to place proper markers on the Graves. |
