St. Laurence's contains elements of the earliest, 12th C, church on the site. Internally the walls are limewashed; some irregular quoin stones are exposed. The west tower has four diminishing stages separated by string-courses. On the lower two stages are west angle buttresses. In 1879, J.E.K. Cutts added the short north aisle with a two-bay acade and north porch. He also refurnished the church and provided a new nave roof and Godwin encaustic floor tiles. The chancel has a medieval trussed rafter roof. The font is tub-shaped, circa 1200, and set on a 19th C base. There is stained glass by Hardman, 1885 and 1896; Kempe & Co., 1917; and James Powell & Sons, 1915, 1921 and 1931.
