St. Giles church, situated high on a bank overlooking the Uley valley, was rebuilt by S.S. Teulon, 1857-58. It comprises of chancel, nave, south aisle, south porch and three stage north tower. The lower two stages of this tower have buttresses at right angles; and the top stage has an open parapet, and a small octagonal north-west spirelet which is crocketed. The chancel has diagonal buttresses. Inside the church there is a six-bay arcade with stilted arches and round piers on high bases. The stone and marble reredos in the church was added in 1878. There is an octagonal north-west vestry by David Barnes, 1990. The font is by Teulon, 1914.There is stained glass east window in the church by Wailes, 1860. The side windows of 1872 are by Wailes, Son & Strang; and there is a window in the south aisle by Kempe, 1883. Also in the south aisle is a window by the Wailes, Son & Strang firm dated 1874. There are a number of fine 18th C chest tombs in the churchyard. One tomb, to Mary Demery who died in 1801, is of the 'tea-caddy' type.
