Turkdean Parish Church

All Saints was originally a Norman church with nave and chancel. The small embattled Perp tower was later built inside the west end of the nave. In the chancel south wall there is the reset upper portion of a small Norman doorway, with a roll moulding on cushion capitals, and a diapered tympanum. Inside the church there is a late 14th C arcade of three bays with octagonal piers and double hollow-chamfered arches. The octagonal font is a 19th C replica of the Perp one which was damaged. There are excellent stained glass windows by Thomas Willement; Hardman; and Henry and Edward Payne.
