St. Peter's has remnants of the original Norman church in it and the reset tympanum over the south door depicts the Tree of Life and spindly animals; and the lintel has bands of saltire crosses. The restored church is the work of Fulljames & Waller, 1849-50. There is a good square stone font, circa 1850; and stained glass by William Warrington, 1851 and by Burlison & Grylls, 1887. There are chest tombs from circa 1800 in the churchyard. The church has an entirely rural setting.
