St. Mary's was an early possession of Llanthony Priory, Gloucester. The lower stages of the west tower are Early English; the top stage of the tower is Perp with gargoyles and battlements. The tower buttresses were added in the 19th C. Besides the tower, the church has a nave, north and south aisles. south porch and chancel with vestry, chapel and organ chamber. The sanctus bell turret is Early 15th C. The fine nave arcades with clerestory above are 15th C. Most of the walls inside the church are scraped. There is a stained glass west window in the north aisle is by Kempe, 1877; and there are three contemporary windows by Lawrence Lee, 1963-67.
