St. Martin's consists of chancel, nave with north porch and south aisle, and Perp style west tower of three stages. The tower has pinnacles and embattlements and a higher north-west stair turret. The Late 15th C south aisle has a south doorway and a good wagon roof restored by Waller in 1891. It also has a five-bay arcade with octagonal piers and carved stone capitals with various motifs. The nave roof has kingposts, spandrels with open-panelled tracery, and carved portrait corbels. ĘThe sanctus bellcote, and chancel with north vestry were rebuilt during the restoration by J.L. Pearson, 1859-60, in French Gothic style. The east window has plate tracery. The decorated chancel was painted by Clayton & Bell in 1873 during further restoration by Pearson. The north porch was added in 1874. The font is 15th C. There is stained glass in the church by Clayton & Bell, James Powell & Sons, Joseph Bell & Sons, and Percy Bacon Bros. In the churchyard there are some good 18th C chest tombs, and a mid 19th C cross on a re-assembled stone plinth.
