The present church, including the nave, sanctuary, south aisle, and spire, was built by Sir John Giffard, Lord of the Manor of Leckhampton, in the 14th century. The church comprises nave, south aisle and sanctuary and the tall slender broach spire, which is a conspicuous landmark in local stone. Sir John and his wife are commemorated by effigies in the church. The church was enlarged in the 1860s by the addition of a north aisle and the lengthening of the nave at the west end, under the direction of the architect John Middleton. The church has a ring of eight bells, and an organ built by Hill, Norman and Beard in 1936 (modified 2000). The churchyard contains a memorial to Dr Edward Wilson, who died on Scott's last Antarctic expedition. Two stained-glass windows are dedicated in his memory. The font is a Norman stone tub with decorative mouldings.
The stained glass windows in the north porch are by Lavers & Westlake, 1903. The same firm made two of the windows in the south aisle, and the east window of the south aisle. The north sanctuary window is by Heaton, Butler & Bayne. All the west windows are by Wailes. There are three windows in the church by Hardman; and there are windows in both aisles by Clayton & Bell. All in all, the church presents a spectacular display of fine stained glass windows.
