This is the largest parish church in Gloucestershire and one of the most spacious in England.
The first impression is overwhelmingly Perpendicular, particularly the tremendous tower which dominates the town from near and far. The best close view - from the Market Place - also encompasses the remarkable and splendid south porch which was built circa 1500. The Boleyn Cup inside the church was made for Anne Boleyn in 1535; silver-gilt, beautifully chased, the cover surmounted by her personal emblem. It was given by Queen Elizabeth I to her physician, Dr. Richard Master, in 1563.
