The chapel is detached from, but stands immediately west of, the grand 16th C Cotswold stone manor, Chavenage House. The chapel has a west tower with angle buttresses, embattled parapet, pinnacles, and a taller stair turret - all built as a folly in the 18th C. The nave was rebuilt conventionally in the late 19th C. The font is a fluted Early Norman bowl, found on the estate. It may have originated from a chapel at Ledgemore, nearby. There is a late 19th C stained glass east window in the chapel and others that are based on figures by Sir Joshua Reynolds.
