St. Mary's church has a 15th Century Perp central tower with North and South trancepts; and a nave with North and South aisles mostly rebuilt in 1877-78.
The chancel was rebuilt in 1878 by John Middleton. The tower has three stages with diagonal buttresses on the lower two; and panelled angle pilasters terminating in pinnacles on the embattled, be-gargoyled top stage.
The bell-openings have ogee heads with finials. The font is tub-shaped, with bowl cut into an octagon and decorated with panels of 14th Century curvilinear tracery.
There is stained glass in the church by Clayton & Bell; and Curtis, Ward & Hughes.
