The oldest parts of St. Peter's Church are the Late Saxon nave and the round-headed tower arch. There is a Transitional chancel arch, triple-chamfered, with billeted hoodmould. The low West tower has a gabled roof, over a stringcourse. There are small rectangular windows in this tower. The church was restored and the large North aisle, North-West porch, and North-East vestry - all in Dec/Perp style - were added by G.J. Scott Jun. in 1878-79. There is stained glass by G.J. Baguley of Newcastle. The font, probably dating from the 16th Century, is an octagonal bowl with scallops on one face.
