Pictorial History of Webster County 1880-2001 This soon to be released book contains about 600 historic photos of Webster County. While the book's main focus is historic sites many photographs include early residents of Webster County. This book doesn't focus just on one town or area but includes many smaller communities from all over the county. Also included are rare photos of the now deserted towns of Three Forks and Jerrysville. There is also a chapter just on one room schools, many of the school photos show students. Scheduled to be released in November 2001 you can order the book prior to July 1st and receive a $5.00 discount. Post publication price is $54.95 plus $5.00 shipping (WV residents add 6% sales tax). UPDATE
The book has been expanded, it will now include twice as many photos (1200) as the original estimate. The additional cost of publishing for this increase is $10.00 per book for a post publication price of $64.95 plus shipping and handling. We regret the price increase but felt that being able to include twice as many photos was well worth the small increase. But to be fair, if you order between July 11th 2001 and November 1 2001 you can obtain the book at the original price of $54.95 plus shipping and tax (if applicable), saving $10.00. This book will include over 60 one room schools/school groups (most schools and students pictured are identified), Town views, businesses, hotels (the section on the Webster Springs hotel includes interior photos), Camp Caesar when it was formed, railroad photos, Pardee and Curtin mining, and numerous Timbering photos including primitive timber camps.
