Counties in West Virginia. My ancestor, Abraham Phillips was born in
1818 and married Rachel (probably Carter) about 1842. Shortly after
the birth of their first child (Mary Catherin Phillips in 1843), they
moved to Cooper Co., Missouri. If anyone has any information on this

I am looking for information on Martin BARBOUR(BARBER). He married Mary
Ann Kelly Walton(maiden name was KELLY) on July 8th, 1868. He was a
Confederate soldier in the 8th West Virginia Infantry, Company "D".
It was later known as the 7th West Virgina Cavalry. He was captured
by Rebels on Nov. 24 1862,and was held prisoner starting in Dec. of
1862 and released in May of 1863. Any information or possible pictures
are greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on the PHILLIPS family in the Putnam, Mason,
and Kanawha area. My great-great-great grandfather was Abraham PHILLIPS
(b. 28 Dec 1817 WV d. 15 Aug 1893 Otterville Twp., Cooper Co., MO) who
married Rachel [probably Carter] (b. 12 April 1818 WV d. 14 May 1907
Otterville, Cooper Co., MO). They were married about 1840. According
to family tradition, they were supposed to have come from around Buffalo,
WV in the year 1844. There are a number of PHILLIPS families in Kanawha
Co. on the 1820 and 1830 censuses--including an Abraham Phillips that
I believe may be the father of my ancestor. If anyone has any information
regarding this family, it would be greatly appreciated.

Clyde Racer family. They lived in Putnam County until the 1940's or
'50's. They had 4 children, one of which, Nellie Rae Byus is my mother.
My grandfather, Mervin Claude, was born 5 May, 1905 and my grandmother,
Herma Clyde Racer was born in 1905. I know that they are buried in the
Lawrence Cemetary in Scott Depot. His parents were William Byus and

George Washington BAILEY, who was born in 1824 and died in 1901. His
first wife was Sophronia Anne Johnson and his second wife was Matilda
Page Bailey Adams. In going through various Census records, I have gotten
names of his children, including my grandfather, Elben Dan Bailey (1898-1955)
but I have had no luck at all in learning anything at all about George's
parents. They lived in the Poca area close to the Kanawha County line.

I am related to the Harrisons and Hendershots of 18 mile in Putnam County.
William Hendershot (1840-1924) married Louisa Harrison (1844- 1920)
daughter of Josiah C. and Francis Harris Harrison. William Hendershot
may have been the son of Joseph Hendershot and Elizabeth Rush (origination
not known for certain). They were married in the early 1860's and moved
to Missouri for a short time. I have no details about this Missouri
move. I have a few more details that I can share but would like a little
help with filling in the gaps.

Delma Smith and had 2 sons. Raymond and James. He then divorced and
remarried a lady named Linda Ball. They had a son named Errol Wayne
Thomason born in 1946. If you have any information on the Thomason name

I am son of Margaret ADKINS 1921-, grson to Andrew Jackson ADKINS 1884-
1931 & Mary Frances HORTON 1883-1928, ggrson to Bub ADKINS. Both
AJ ADKINS & MF HORTON died in Charleston. It is said that other
of the family kept records and lived in St. Albans. My branch has no
knowledge of their names or whereabouts. Can anyone help. AJ is supposed
to be buried in Springhill Cem; but they don't have a record of that
AJ. My mother, Margaret was one of 14 orphaned children. Spouse surnames:
MILLER, STRICKLAND, ZEN, IBENEZ, FULMER, STEWART, TEEL, LITTON, SPERRY,
KING, HUFFMAN, UNDERWOOD. Thanks much for any help & direction.

1800's. Martha Norvelle born 1804 in Putnam Co., buried in Mason Co.
She married John B. Farrar. They had following children: William b 1827,
Mary Ann b 1826, Floyd V b 1833, Cortez b 1836, Eliz. b 1839, Democracy
b 1841 & Veto b 1844. Father John was from Goochland Co., VA.
