Rachel
Rae Roberson
Rachel
Rae Roberson, 23, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the
UVA Hospital in Charlottesville, VA.
Miss
Roberson was born in Harrisonburg, VA, on Feb. 24, 1987, the daughter of Randy
Ray and Karen Faye Fisher Roberson of Franklin.
She
was a 2008 graduate of Pendleton County High School and a member of Christ
Central Church.
Surviving,
in addition to her parents, are two sisters, Rebecca Renee Miller and husband,
Daniel of Winchester, VA, and Emily Jo Roberson of Franklin; grandparents, Alden
“Babe” and Ruby Gail Thompson Roberson of Franklin and Estie Oakman Fisher
of Harrisonburg, VA; a niece, Jameigh Allison Miller of Winchester, VA; and
several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She
was preceded in death by her grandfather, Darrell Fisher, Sr.
Funeral
services were held Wednesday at the Basagic Funeral Home in Franklin with Rev.
Sam Harper officiating. Interment
was in the Ruddle Cemetery, Franklin.

W. Landis, 71
John
Wesley Landis, 71, of Broadway, VA, died Saturday March 20, 2010, at Rockingham
Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, VA.
He
was born Dec. 13, 1938, in West Virginia and was the son of the late Ralph Sr.
and Mary Kerlin Sponaugle Landis.
He
was a self employed land excavator.
On
Aug. 21, 1964, he married the former Rosie Evans, who survives.
Also
surviving are three daughters and their spouses, Linda and Larry Messerley,
Brenda D. Landis and Kerlin and Torrey Huffman, all of Broadway, VA; six
brothers and their spouses, Charles and Elsia Landis of West Virginia, Ralph and
Jane Landis of Petersburg, Jimmy Landis of Michigan, Robert and Wanda Landis and
Olin and Elaine Landis, all of Franklin, and Larry and Lynn Landis of
Mississippi; two sisters and their spouses, Kitty Ann and Blaine Simmons of
Staunton, VA, and Dolly Nilsen of Franklin; four grandchildren, Alecia Stout and
Scott, Jason, and Rodney Messerley; and one great-grandson, River Turner.
A
funeral service was held Tuesday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway,
VA, with Rev. Lewis Armentrout officiating.
Burial was at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Franklin.
