Harlen Vanscoy |
(1972) Harlen Vanscoy, 63, of Norton, died Tuesday at 8:10 p.m. at the Memorial General Hospital. He was born Sept. 14, 1909, at Philippi, the son of the late Hanson and Nancy K. Vanscoy. He was married June 1, 1940 to the former Anna Zelma Ware who survives. Also surviving are one son Robert Neil Vanscoy of Manchester, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Sidney (Glorie June) Galloway, Exton, Pa., Mrs. Lowel (Carolyn May) Getty, York, Pa., Mrs. Samuel D. (Nancy Joan) Lawrence, Elkins; one sister Mrs. Emma Queen, Newport News, Va.; two brothers, Delbert Vanscoy and Omer Vanscoy, both of Baltimore, Md.; 10 grandchildren. One son, three sisters, one brother, one half-sister and one half-brother are deceased. Vanscoy, who was a retired
coal miner, was a member of the Kynette United Methodist Church at Harding
and a member of Local Union 41001 United Mine Workers of America |
