George M. Reel Jr. |
30 May 2002 George M. Reel Jr., 80, a resident of Norwood, Pa., and formerly of Belington, departed this life Sunday, May 26, 2002, in Taylor Hospital at Ridley Park, Pa. He was born April 28, 1922, at Suncrest, a son of the late George M. Reel Sr. and Alice Rhoades Reel. Surviving are his wife, the former Wilda Kittle of Norwood, Pa.; four sons, Mike Reel of Belington, Larry Reel of Wallingford, Pa., Jim Reel of Boothwyn, Pa., and Charles Reel of Morton, Pa.; two daughters, Jackie Reel of Prospect Park, Pa., and Donna Fagone of Glen Mills, Pa.; one brother, Jack Reel of Grafton; one sister, Betty Price of Port Orange, Fla.; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Reel attended the schools of Canton, Ohio. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Marines in the South Pacific and Philippine campaigns. He worked at Boeing Vertol as a tube bender for more than 25 years retiring in 1987. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Home from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be conducted
at 2 p.m. from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. Timothy Rollins
officiating. Interment will follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington,
where the presentation of the American Flag will be conducted by the
American Legion Post 44 of Philippi. In lieu of flowers the family requests
that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to
the American Lung Association. |
