Ella Weese

28 Aug 2003 Ella Weese, 95, of Beverly, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Nella’s Nursing Home where she had been a resident since Oct. 22, 1999. She had been in failing health since that time. Born Feb. 5, 1908, at Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Furdie and Salina Mahoney Swiger. On Aug. 25, 1925, she was united in marriage to Troy W. Weese, who preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1981. Ella is survived by four daughters, Elma Schoonover of Beverly, Betty Simmons of Beach City, Ohio, Mary Hammonds of Canton, Ohio, and Jackie Perez of Denver, Colo. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by one daughter, Velma Taggart; two sons, Louis and Leonard Weese; three sisters, two brothers and two grandchildren. Ella was a homemaker. She loved making quilts and also babysat for several families in the Randolph County area. Ella will be sadly missed by her daughters, grandchildren and other people whose lives she touched. Besides being a wonderful mother and grandmother, she was a wonderful person. Ella was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church. Friends will be received at
the F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel after 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral services
will be conducted from the Runner chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday. Pastor Curlie
Ray of Abundant Life Christian Center and Pastor Mike House of Ambassador
Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at the Elkins Memorial
Gardens, formerly the IOOF Cemetery, in Elkins. The F.E. Runner Funeral
Home is in charge of the arrangements for Ella Weese. |
