2 Dec 2004 Burton C. Weese, 88, a resident of Mill Creek, departed this life Tuesday evening, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home. He had been in declining health. He was born Tuesday, May 9, 1916, at Valley Bend, a son of the late Hayes Weese and Irene Hull Weese. On Sept. 22, 1946, at Charleston, he was married to the former Bessie Mary Hodges, who preceded him in death March 9, 1989. Surviving are one son, Curtis Burton Weese of Princeton; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by his parents and wife; three brothers, Paul Weese, Elmer Weese and Leonard Weese; and four sisters, Violet Swecker, Mae Hart, Marie Cunningham and infant Ruth Weese. He attended the schools of Randolph County and was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Combat Engineers. He was a truck driver, a member of the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American Legion and Tygarts Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a Methodist by faith. The family will receive friends at the
Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home, Friday at 9 a.m.
with the Rev. Frank Long officiating. Interment will follow at the Brick
Church Cemetery at Huttonsville where the H.W. Daniels Post 29 American
Legion and Tygarts Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct
full military rites. The Lohr & Barb Funeral Home is in charge of
