Gazetteer and Business Directory of Washington County, Vt. 1783-1889; originally compiled and published by Hamilton Child, Syracuse, N.Y. Contains history, biographies, people and places, state of things in the '80s.

 

Index to Known Cemetery Listings in Vermont, 3rd Edition compiled by Joann Nichols and published in 1995 by the Vermont Historical Society is a goldmine. It lists by county by town a most complete index of recorded cemetery inscription listings. From microfilm to genealogy quarterlies to books, it tells you where to find those so precious records.

 

Vermont Place-Names: Footprints of History by Esther M. Swift; published in 1977 by Stephen Greene Press; Vermont places, people and history interwoven on a town-by-town basis; 701 pages.
