- I am looking for information on the Rose family; in the 1840
census, widow Sarah G. Rose lived down the road from George W.
Rose. She had a daughter Sarah G. or C. Rose (b.July 6, 1823),
who married Daniel Cress July 6, 1847 in Washington (Co.?), Virginia.
I wondered if anyone knew who Sarah's father was, or what Sarahs'
mother's family name was, or who her parents were. Thank you
in advance for sharing any information you may have with me...

- Searching for more info. on possible 3G-g.father J.MAJOR
FIELDS(1798-1873)Washington Co,VA. Wife-Sally WILDER (m-9/11/1817).
It's possible he had a son also named MAJOR FIELDS (abt. 1814-c.1876).
Major(M.F. or M.H. - not sure)FIELDS & his bro. ROBERT LEE FIELDS
journeyed to western KY (Hickman Co) abt. 1831. Federal census
of 1840 has them married & farming 400 & 200 acres respectively.
I'd be happy to share what info. I have on this line as well
as accept any suggestions for doing further searches in this
county. Not knowing what part of Wash. Co,VA he lived in makes
it harder to search for a cemetery or gravesite. More info. on
this family line can be sent to me at : [email protected]
Thanks for any help you'd be able to offer. Martha

Rosenbaum in 1827. Rachel Fox married John Rosenbaum Jr. in 1819.
All children produced from these two marriages were given the

Were they sisters marrying brothers? What would be the explanation
behind the change in surname spelling? How can I find out about
