- Enoch MOORE first found in Washington County, VA on 1782
tax list He married Mary Whitley in Washington Co. 3/23/1786
They had a son Isaac in 1789 Enoch bought property from John
and Margaret Whitley in 1804 in Waashington County (John apparently
Mary's brother, as Mary's father Robert Whitley mentioned both
Mary and John in his will He is found in several census and tax
lists later on in Russell County where he died about 1840. MY
PROBLEM : There are several Isaacs, one who appears to be old
enough to be Enoch's father, and whom Enoch seems to follow to
Russell County about 1796. There are also in neighboring Grayson
County as many mentions of Enoch and Isaac Moores. Can anybody
help me sort out all of the Enoch and Isaac MOOREs found in these
three counties? Where did mine come from? Who were his parents?
