I am seeking information on the Lee family that resided in Tarrant county. My gr grandfather William L. Lee married Martha Treadwell in Rusk County, moving to Tarrant County l855-56. He died in l870, she died in 187l. They left children in Tarrant County, most old enough to manage on their own, except my grandfather, James Jackson Lee. He was probably less than two when they died. His older brother Alfred Shelly Lee had the family bible and all the family pictures. I would love to locate this family bible.

I also cannot find Trinity Cemetery where they are supposedly buried. J.W. Carter is said to have been cattle manager of the King Ranch (their records burned) was hired away to manage the Ft. BETTS - DAMRON Seeking information on John Wesley Betts and his wife, Cora Ethel ( Damron ) Betts. John Wesley died in 1932 and Cora died in 1966 ? at Arlington. I'm looking for Jack D Hudson, b ca 1885 in Kennedale, Tarrant, TX. He was married to my grandmother, Lillian May Williams in 1910, and had four children - Lola Mary, James O, Theda L, and my mother, Malvina Phoebe Hudson. Hearsay is that he spent time in Jacksboro, Jack Co with his cousins and brothers Abb, Les, and Ben. I believe that Abb was Albert who was married and had only one child, Mary Ruth or Mary Jane. I haven't been able to determine who his other brothers were. When Jack and my grandmother, Lillian, divorced ca 1924, he married again to 'Edna' - previous name unknown. Jack's occupation when he married Lillian was 'odd jobs'. Then I heard that he worked an auto dealership sometime in the early 1900's. Does any of this sound familiar to you? I am looking for information on orphanages in the Ft Worth area. My ggrandmother was supposedly raised in an orphanage. She was born 1881 in Corsicana Tx..I have checked the orphanages in that area and none have any record of her. I find no record of her, since she was born after the 1880 census, until the 1900 census in Wise Co. She was married at this point. She was in the household of her fahter in law: Reason M SLATE 54 TN Elvira R. 53 KY Jospeh W. 21 KY Lue E. 19 Tx THis is my Lula Ella JORDAN who married Joseph Wallace SLATE. Lula and her husband are on the 1910 Tarrant CO Tx census. Since she married in the Tarrant Co area, I was wondering if she could have been in an orphanage in that area. I checked with Buckners in Dallas already... Can anyone give me some help on this?
