Seguin Junior Miss honored

Seguin Junior Miss honored
Seguin's Dottsy Brodt is a talented little dish who took up singing and guitar playing about half her life ago.
She did so well at it that she's been receiving standing ovations and other tributes for it ever since.  One of her recent conquest was first place in a big Western talent show in San Antonio.
Last Saturday night came the big one... the little 16 year old dash of blonde hair and blue eyes strode onto the stage of the Seguin High School auditorium and sang her way to the coveted title of Seguin's Junior Miss.  A capacity crowd cheered the selection.
And she did it with such style that she should be rated one of the favorites to win next year's Texas Junior Miss title at nearby New Braunfels.
Matter of fact, the petite sized Dottsy had to do a phenomenal job to win the Seguin title, considering the high caliber competition up there with her on the stage.
First runner up Jenness Dietert, and second runner up was Ann Saegert, both prior winners of beauty and talent shows.
Dottsy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brodt, after winning the title was presented with a $500 scholarship to Mary Hardin Baylor College and an additional $200 scholarship from the local Junior Chamber of Commerce.  The Jaycees in the usual traditional sponsored another successful Junior Miss spectacular with this year's show.
Jenness Dietert received a $100 scholarship, and Ann Saegert a $50 scholarship.  Six remaining contestants comprising this year's outstanding bevy of beauty charm and talent were presented with $10 gift certificates.
Dottsy in winning first place played the guitar and sang two songs in the talent division of the show.
Judges for this year's event included Miss Anita Windecker, and instructor in the TLU Music Department, Miss Nicki Stallman, who is the current Miss Texas Watermelon Queen, and Kenneth Triesch, choir director from New Braunfels.
