New Year's Eve dance

New Year's Eve dance
Thirteen senior girls were honored by their parents with a costume dance on New Year's Ever.
Approximately 450 invited guests danced to music by the Middle Earth Bank from San Antonio.  The party was held at the National Guard Armory.
The honorees were Jan Boehnke, escorted by Zan Padgett; Judy Frels, escorted by John Semmler; Rebecca Lenowitz, escorted by Nelson Donegan; Matty Van Lear, escorted by Grady Hoermann; Kay Zunker, escorted by Rick Trobermann; Lois Kahanek, escorted by Dennis Trost; Kandee Isam, escorted by Glenn Haas; Jo Beth Reymann, escorted by Johnny Snipes; Catherine Donsbach, escorted by Jerry Hoermann; Connie Bachman, escorted by Hil Starcke; Sally Soechting, escorted by Bobby Sagebiel; Gail Armstrong, escorted by Danny Springs; and Judy Womble, escorted by Walter Ulbricht.
The armory was decorated with a New Year's them. Individual large masks bearing an honoree's name were on the walls.  Large clocks were painted on white tablecloths on the small tables.  As the guests entered the building a Happy New Year banner and a large clock, pointing to the midnight hour, met their view.
The climax of the evening was at midnight when four balloon bags were opened, showing several hundred brightly colored balloons.  Noise maker horns, paper streamers and confetti were given to the guests by Mary Frels, Ralph Boehnke and Russel Erxleben to help usher in the New Year.  Johnny Jarutowicz, son of Mr. and MRs. Gary Jarutowicz, was dressed as a New Year Baby.
Chips and dips were plentiful.  The centerpiece for the serving table was a small gold tree with pictures of small clocks hanging from the branches.  Punch was served from a lighted silver champagne fountain.
The costumes, some clever, some beautiful, added to the festive air.
