My g.uncle was Willard L. PIERCE (b.1872=GA), who married Viola Pellum LAWLER (b.1878=AL). Their children were: Lucien, Sam, J.B., Beatrice, Viola, Myrtice, Arnold, Dutch, Charles & Delores . Three of them are still alive. They migrated to Coleman County in 1903 from Alabama. Willard's parents:father b.GA, mother b.GA. The rest of my family who came to Texas settled in Callahan County. Searching for information about Eli Jones WHITT b 1824 Halifax Co, VA; m. Elizabeth Frances RICHMOND b 1830 Caswell Co, NC. Moved to Comanche Co, TX c1879. Both died there. Interested in any and all information on the John Clark CLOUD family. He was in Milam Co @ 1855. His wife was Mary Polly GRIFFIN, daughter of John W GRIFFIN. The son of John Clark, John Clark CLOUD, Jr, was married to Sallie (Sarah) CARTER. Her parents were Jackson Alexander CARTER and Darcus Pryor TAYLOR. They came to Milam Co @ 1854 from Copiah Co MS. Darcus Pryor Taylor's father was Thomas B TAYLOR who died in Milam Co @ 1858. The CLOUDS had originally come from AL to Austin Co @ 836. I would love to make contact with any of the descendnts of the above families. Especially the GRIFFIN family for I know very little about them. Thanks a million.

DAVENPORT, BARCROFT, PINKARD: My grandfather was Dr. Overton Homer DAVENPORT who practiced in Comanche and Hasse from about 1900-1927. He arrived there from Eastland County. In abt 1903-4, he married Callie Dora BARCROFT, d. of long-time residents James and Jane WATSON BARCROFT. BARCROFT children include Mag, Conard, Berend, Callie Dora (called Dora), Lula, Lilly, Willie, and May. James D. (the father) was in the CSA infantry; his father was Elisha BARCROFT. I am able to locate the DAVENPORT info up to his arrival in Eastland County, but only bits and pieces of his time in Comanche County; practically nothing about the BARCROFT family. My mother, Lois DAVENPORT was the eldest of five children born to O.H. and Dora. She was born in 1906. Other siblings were Homer, Leon, Dora and Mildred. Dr. DAVENPORT was often the only physician in Hasse. The PINKARD connection is through marriage to a BARCROFT, possibly an aunt of my grandmother. Daniel PINKARD was a foster child brought to Comanche from TN where his parents had died. He was always called Uncle Dan'l Pinkard by the family. Any/All assistance available will be deeply appreciated.

R.B. (Robert Bowlen) BISHOP was born July 29, 1862. He married Narces LEWIS in 1888 in Eastland Co.,Tx. He died Mar. 15,1892 and is buried in Motley Co.Tx while working for the Matador Cattle Ranch. SMITH We are looking for information, specifically first names, of my greatgrandparents, Grandpa and Grandma Smith, who came from Benton County, Arkansas in the late 1870s to early 1182, when according to oral tradition, they both died, and are supposedly buried in Comanche County. They died when my grandmother, Mattie Martha Elvirah Smith Montgomery, was 12 years old. She married my grandfather, George Burton Montgomery, on 18 Feb 1892, in Gorham, Eastland County. I am looking for my grandmother's family. Her name was Clarience Chilton FELTS b. 8-19-1892 d. 1-10-1935 m. James Arthur DAVIS on 11-1910. Her brother's name was Luther FELTS. Her father's name was M.L.FELTS and her mother's name was M.D. LEWIS. Clarience Chilton FELTS died in Haskell, Haskell Co.,Texas and is buried there. James Arthur DAVIS b. 6-27-1889 d. 11-25-1923 is buried in Red Top Cemetery in Spur, Texas. At some time when she was younger she moved to Dickens County with an aunt Mattie DAVIS LEWIS. I assume that is where she meet and married James Arthur DAVIS. James Arthur DAVIS and Mattie DAVIS LEWIS are brother and sister. Mattie DAVIS LEWIS's husband, Wainhart H. LEWIS is a brother to Clarience Chilton FELTS mother, M.D. LEWIS.
