Looking for any information on the NEEL, DANIEL, and EWELL families who resided on Resley Creek in Commanche County from mid 1850's. William NEEL and wife Mary Ann, James H. NEEL, wife Sarah F. DANIEL, James W. DANIEL, wife Louisa H. NEEL, and their children arrived in Comanche County in 1852. Elizabeth Law WHITE EWELL, arrived with sons Thomas S. EWELL and Charles W. EWELL (marrried Florence NEEL) a little later. There were still family members residing in Comanche as late as 1979. Will share information on any of these families.

Elizabeth HEAD (age 14) married W.D. McPHAUL in June 1873 in Comanche County. He was shot by Bill JEFFRIES that year, who was in turn shot by Elizabeth's father, Ezra Eli HEAD. Who was McPHAUL and who was JEFFRIES? At age 15, Elizabeth married T.A. EVANS in Eastland County. Who was EVANS and what happened to him? (The following June, she married Wesley WHEAT and lived happily ever after...)

I am searching for the death date of DEWEY EDITH ANDERSON LEWIS, she is buried in Oakwood Cemetery in Comanche county, her birth date is on the headstone as May 21, 1899 but there is no other date listed in the book that I found this in.I also found Comanche county marriage records a listing for Miss EDYTH DEWEY ANDERSON marrying a GEORGE CROWLEY , Oct. 8, 1919, and then on another page there is a Miss DEWEY E. ANDERSON marrying a FRANK MAULDIN on Nov. 23, 1920, I would like to confirm if these are one and the same as DEWEY LEWIS, she did marry a CHARLES THURMAN LEWIS and is buried next to him, however I was not able to find the marriage date for them. COX, NICHOLS: Jacob Cornellious "J.C." or "Jake" COX moved from Dallas County to Hamilton County in early 1870's. He met & married a Miss Susan NICHOLS (NICHOLAS) there abt 1875. They moved to Comanche Co., and settled at the Old Cox Place in the Stagg Creek Community, were members of the Brownwood Church of Christ for 44 years. Jake died in September 12, 1934, Susan was born on Jan 30, 1860, and died August 16, 1942. Both are buried in Stagg Creek Cemetery. I am looking for obituary information for Susan, and the name of her parents.

My grandfather, Milton Bailey RIPLEY was born either in Comanche Co. or close to Abilene. He was the son of Isaac Paul RIPLEY (born 1882 Delta Co. Texas, died 1962 Comanche, Texas) and Laura Rebecca WITHERS (this was her last name from her first marriage, her maiden name is unknown). She was born in 1876, unknown where, and died in 1972 in Comanche, Texas. Isaac RIPLEY'S parents were John W. RIPLEY (born 1843 in Tenn., died 1917 in Comanche Co.)and Sarah Caroline CASSMAN (born 07 Oct 1854 in Little Rock, Ark. and died 25 May 1954 Comanche Co. Tx) Both of them are buried in the Mercer's Gap Cemetery. I am looking for anyone else who may be researching this family. Looking for information on Alfious PERRY. Born Oct. 1876 in Mississippi, died about 1905 (buried at Whitepoint Cementary). His father was Henry Perry (Mississippi. Alfious PERRY married Emma BLACKMON. During Emma's fourth pregnancy, two children and Alfious died. The two surviving children were Doris PERRY and Alfious (Alf) Lewis PERRY (born in Comanche). Alf PERRY married Lura in 1921. They had four children (Henry, Preston, Kathryn, and (Nannie)Virginia. Alf and Lura are my grandparents. Virginia is my mother. I'm also trying to establish a connection to the NICKS family members(Sarah ANDERSON, Thomas J. ANDERSON, John J. ANDERSON, Alexander Hamilton ANDERSON, and Susanna L.
