Will of Samuel HAYS

Will of Samuel HAYS, deceased

In the name of God, Amen.  I, Samuel Hays of the County of Weakley and State of Tennessee, being of sound mind and memory, and considering the uncertainty of life, do therefore make and ordain, publish, and declare this to be my last will and testament, that is to say, First, after all my just debts are paid, I give and bequeath unto James W. HUNT, son of Samuel HUNT, the home tract of land where I now live, containing four hundred and fifty acres more or less.  Also two wagons now on hand.  Also all my farming utensils.  Also all my stock of horses and mules, cattle and hogs and sheep, with the exception of one bay horse called Charley, about five years old.  I, the said Samuel HAYS is to hold possession of my present bedroom during my natural life.  Also my present jack I now have on hand is to remain as a partner concern until otherwise disposed of.  Also I likewise appoint the said James W. HUNT to be my Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills made by me.  I furthermore request the Court not to exact security on the said will whereof.  I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed my seal the 26th day of December in the year 1874.
