Dr. James A. Crabtree was my mother's brother and was the Deputy Surgeon General of the U.S. sometime after World War II. He also served in the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration.  He was Dean of the Pittsburg School of Medicine at his death and is buried in Arlington Cemetery. He began his public health service as the Gibson County Health Doctor in Trenton, TN in 1926.
