Samuel W. SHELL,  US Army Tech 5, Enlisted June 24, 1942 at Fort Oglethrope, GA. He was from Palmersville, Weakley County where he had been a general Farmer. His Military Occupational Specialty and number was Truck Driver Light 345. Samuel was in the New Guinea Campaign. He received the WWII Victory Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, American Theater Ribbon, AP Theater Ribbon and One Bronze Service Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, and one Bronze Star CO 23 Hq USAFFE 45. He served  1 1/2 years on the US Continent plus 2 years of Foreign Service. His Honrable Discharge lists his date of separation as Jan 8, 1946 at Camp Chaffee, AR.
