The name of the school is unknown. The children lived in Finger and Bethel
SpringsBarnell Surratt ,is the fourth person (l-r) on the
front row, the little guy in overalls. Barnell was born in March of 1924
so some of these students were first or second graders while others
are obviously older. Barnell graduated in 1941 from Bethel Springs High
School as class president, married in 1942, served in WWII, later he become the Comptroller of the City of Memphis
Hospitals.
